The Domaine was once a farm with land and barns. Now it is a Domaine of three converted homes, with one further barn partly converted, all set in a total of 2.3 hectares
Over 17 years we have renovated the Farmhouse twice, re-built the Bread Oven, planted hundreds of trees, built two swimming pools and renovated our own 'Colombage' barn to make a really fantastic principal home.
We have one more project - The Sechoir (Tobacco Barn). There is full planning permission for conversion to
more living space including a fantastic studio with views up to the windmill on the hill above the house- we have started the work and have comprehensive quotes for the remainder.
We bought Gigan in 2003 and since then things have changed. We started at just a holiday home for our family and over the years it has become a successful business. We have two letting houses

The gross income from the two houses is currently around £40k per annum with a further £15 - 20k income from the courses. Our season is currently limited to May - end September as we do not live full time in France.

Guests' Swimming Pool

The Guests' Garden
There are two parts to the garden. The guests enjoy around 1.5 acres, which includes the swimming pool, large lawns, climbing frame, wendy house, a pergola for each house a thatched retreat and a mini maze in our flower meadow.

We started the conversion of this traditional barn in 2010. It was finished in 2011 and since then has been a fabulous home for our family.

The pool is totally secluded from the guests' areas. You can enjoy this wonderful part of the property in total seclusion.
The pool was installed in 2015 is 8 x 4 metres, salt water and heated by the heat exchanger that heats our house.
The area is fantastic for daily markets.

Chateaux & Castles
We are in a fabulous area of castles & chateaux -many geared towards children
including Biron, Duras, Bridoire, Monbazillac
The Lot & Garonne is a beautiful area of rolling hills and hilltop villages. Road connections are really good - either north to Bergerac or south to Villeneuve sur Lot or Agen.
We are known as the larder of France as agriculture is the main industry - sunflower fields abound and you will find acres and acres of plum trees - providing the plums dried to make Agen Prunes.
During July & August enjoy fabulous producers markets.
Villages set up outside dining and local producers set up stalls selling prepared dishes. From oysters from Arcachon, local duck, hazelnut pancakes, fabulous wine from local vineyards and more....
We are just south of the Bergerac wine area and there are many vineyards to visit and some really great wines. Particular favourites include Chateaux Jaubertie, La Fage & Clos de Verdots
We are just 4km from a village with a shop, boulangerie & pharmacy
There are two other small villages a few minutes drive away.
For supermarket shopping 15 minutes in either direction will take you to good size Intermarches.
Larger towns are just 25 minutes drive for more of a shopping 'fix'
Canoeing & Boating
We are just 10 minutes from the river Lot where there is a river beach for swimming as well as boat hire.
A fabulous addition to the summer season and always popular with guests.
Walking & Cycling
This is an amazing area for walking and cycling . The tourist office has over 400 circular routes which can be printed - a real hit with visitors and often we have guests joining us partly for the outdoor life.
If golf is your thing, there are plenty of courses in the area. We have our own - Golfe de Barthe - just 4km from the house. English owned and quite a hub of the local social life with French, English & Dutch all enjoying socialising and playing together
